It has been more than 9 months after the release of latest game consoles by Microsoft and Sony.
According to latest report of NPD group, August sales for previous generation of consoles declined 57 percent from the same time last year while sales for the newly launched Xbox One and Playstation 4 failed to offset the drop, making it around $47 million overall decrease over the year.
This is mainly because of the steep decline in the release in the video games. As compared to August 2013 when 8 top games were launched, only 3 were launched in August 14.
The industry is expected to recover next month in October and November as some major developers are expected to release exclusive games for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
